Kelly A. Goodman, ACNP

Board Certified Adult & Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Kelly Goodman began her nursing career in 1996 following graduation from the Catholic University of America with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. During a ten-year nursing career, Kelly held staff positions in the ER, ICU, and IMCU. She returned to school in 2004 to attend Georgetown University where she received her Master of Science degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2006. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a licensed Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Kelly is also certified by Aesthetic Medical Educators Training for the injection of Botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. Kelly welcomes all patients 18 years and older for sick visits, primary care, and cosmetic procedures.

Kelly began practicing independently in 2009 when she founded her first practice, Spring Valley Health and Wellness. Kelly saw there was a desperate need for comprehensive, accessible, and insurance-based primary care within the DMV area. In 2012, Kelly moved her practice to Bethesda, Maryland and expanded under the new name of Kelly Goodman, NP & Associates, PC. In 2016, Kelly opened her second primary care practice, Promenade Primary Care, which is currently located at L’Enfant Plaza in D.C. Most recently on January 1, 2019 Kelly Care, LLC in Clarksville, MD, Kelly’s third primary practice, opened for business and started seeing patients.

Kelly currently resides in Bethesda, Maryland with her two sons and Rhodesian Ridgeback, Hudson. When Kelly isn’t tending to her patients, you can find her on the baseball field cheering on her boys or on the coast catching waves!

Kristy Huenink, AGNP

Board Certified Adult Gerontology Practitioner

Kristy Huenink joined Kelly Goodman Group in August 2019. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Central Missouri in 2004. She worked as a critical care nurse in a medical and surgical intensive care unit for 9 years in Jefferson City, Missouri. Kristy then received her Master of Science degree in Advanced Practice Nursing from Saint Louis University in 2013 and began her nurse practitioner career working in internal medicine. Kristy is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed as an Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. She welcomes all patients 17 years and older for acute care visits and primary care. Kristy has a special interest in chronic disease management and preventive medicine. She believes in working with patients to find the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness.

Kristy resides in Arlington, Virginia with her husband, two daughters, and Golden Retriever. Kristy’s hobbies include CrossFit, skiing, hiking, traveling, and cheering on her daughters at sporting events.

Terese Sybor, FNP

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Terese Sybor received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from The Catholic University of America in 2010, and her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from The George Washington University in 2017. Tere worked at The George Washington University Hospital for seven years on the Neuroscience and Orthopedic Unit before completing her FNP degree. She then worked at a primary care office in Arlington, Virginia for 2 years after graduating. Tere is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner in Maryland and Virginia. She welcomes all patients two years and older for sick visits, and five years and older for primary care.

Tere currently resides in Arlington, Virginia where she enjoys spending time with her husband, 1 year old son, and Golden Retriever.

Carolyn Brown, FNP

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Carolyn Brown received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Maryland in 1997. She then completed a fellowship in high-risk obstetrics at the Washington Hospital Center where she worked for five years before moving to Denver, Colorado. In Denver, she continued working in high-risk obstetrics and labor and delivery and also taught childbirth education classes. After returning to Maryland, Carolyn worked at a school-based wellness center providing primary care to children and adolescents at high school in Montgomery County. In 2019, she received her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed as a family nurse practitioner in Maryland. She has a special interest in working with adolescents and welcomes patients five years and older for primary care.

Carolyn resides in Howard County with her husband, three teenage boys, and black Labrador Retriever, Ruger. She enjoys skiing, traveling, and cheering on her boys’ sports teams.

Sabina Sambat, ANP

Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner

Sabina Sambat began her nursing career in 1994 at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital following graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She practiced in neurosurgery and otolaryngology while attending the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, working towards her Master of Science degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, which she completed in 2000. Sabina is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and is licensed as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland. Sabina is also certified by Aesthetic Medical Educators Training in Botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. Sabina joined KellyCare in September 2019, and welcomes adult patients for primary care, sick visits, and cosmetic procedures. Additionally she welcomes adolescents ages 13-17 for sports physicals, acne management, and non-acute visits such as rapid strep testing.

Sabina currently resides in West Friendship with her husband, 2 boys, and Labrador Retriever, Francesca. She enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling with her family.

Daniel Powers, FNP

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Daniel was born and raised in Nashville, TN, but has made a home in Northern Virginia for the last 4 years. He has a dual bachelor’s degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA in Health Sciences and Nursing. He obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from George Washington University in D.C.

 

His career started in adult internal medicine where he managed patients with complex and chronic health conditions. During his time in primary care, he became passionate about helping patients manage their weight while treating their ongoing health issues. In 2019, he went on to specialize in medically managed weight loss. Daniel specializes in body composition analysis, nutritional counseling, and fitness discussions with his patients. As a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Daniel provides a comprehensive primary care experience and takes special interest in the management of diabetes, blood pressure, weight and endocrine disorders.

 

He currently resides in Falls Church, Virginia with his wife Michelle who is a Certified Nurse Midwife, their 2 year old son, Nate, and Beagle Basset, Zach.  During his free time, Daniel enjoys riding his Peloton, traveling internationally, and cooking.

 

Daniel is accepting patients two years and older for sick visits and five years and older for primary care.

Samantha Perry, FNP

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Sam received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia in 2012. After a change in career, Sam earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015. She worked as a critical care nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s National in D.C. for 4 years and then obtained her Master of Science degree in Nursing from George Washington University. Sam is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Maryland and Virginia.

 

Sam resides in Arlington, Virginia with her husband and two golden retrievers, Bean & George. She enjoys Orangetheory, spending time with friends and family, and baking.

Lisa is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in both District of Columbia and Maryland. Lisa welcomes all patients two (2) years and older for sick visits and five (5) years and older for annual wellness exams.

Laura Heller, FNP

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Laura received her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Policy from Georgetown University in 2012. Her desire to enrich the lives of others shaped her upbringing and attracted her to become a registered nurse. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University in 2014. She began her nursing career as a medical surgical nurse at Washington Hospital Center in DC and then obtained her Master of Science degree from Georgetown University. Laura is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed as a family nurse practitioner in Washington, DC and Maryland.

 

Laura lives in Washington, DC with her Bernadoodle named Bear. She enjoys spending time with friends, family, long walks, hiking and country escapes.

 

Laura is now accepting patients two years and older for sick visits and five years and older for primary care on Mondays and Fridays

Lisa is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in both District of Columbia and Maryland. Lisa welcomes all patients two (2) years and older for sick visits and five (5) years and older for annual wellness exams.

Lisa Lindstrom, FNP

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Lisa Lindstrom teamed up with Kelly Goodman to open The Promenade Primary Care Clinic in Washington, DC, a branch of The Kelly Goodman Group Clinics.

Lisa’s first career was in chemistry where she received her Bachelor of Science degree, Master of Science degree, and her PhD before she made the transition to nursing and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2003.

After working in neurosurgery and community health, she saw the need for high quality, accessible, and personal primary care in the District of Columbia.  She earned her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from The George Washington University in 2013.

Lisa is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in both District of Columbia and Maryland. Lisa welcomes all patients two (2) years and older for sick visits and five (5) years and older for annual wellness exams.

Ivy Prothro, FNP

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Ivy Prothro is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in Dermatology. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University.

 

Prior to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, Ivy worked as a registered nurse for six years in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and a dermatology clinic. Ivy is licensed by the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Dermatology Nurses’ Association. She is accepting new patients of all ages for dermatology and cosmetic visits.

 

Ivy resides in DC with her husband and their French Bulldog, Chloe.
