What is Body Composition?
Body composition is a method of breaking down the body into its core components: fat, protein, minerals, and body water. It describes your weight more accurately and provides a better glimpse into your overall health than traditional methods.
Body composition analysis can accurately show changes in fat mass, muscle mass, and body fat percentage.
Why is Body Composition Important for Weight Loss?
Most diet and fitness goals focus on weight loss or gain, overlooking that two people of the same sex and body weight may look completely different from each other because they have a different body composition. Body composition describes the amount of fat, bone, water, and muscle in the body. Measuring your body composition will tell you your own body’s unique makeup and help you identify areas to work on to improve your overall health and wellness.
Body composition analysis is a method of describing what the body is made of, differentiating between fat, protein, minerals, and body water to give you a snapshot of your health. InBody is in the business of body composition analysis, and we’re here to help you reach your health goals from the inside out.
Semaglutide Weight Loss Injections
What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is an injection for chronic weight loss management. The medication mimics a hormone that causes insulin secretion and slows down how quickly your stomach empties food. This causes you to feel full earlier, eat less food, and lose weight.
How does Semaglutide work?
Semaglutide mimics a hormone, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), that works in the brain to regulate appetite. Your digestive tract releases this hormone after eating, stimulating insulin production, and lowering blood sugar. This process leads to a 1-to-2-pound weight loss every week. In combination with a healthy diet and exercise plan, Semaglutide makes weight loss sustainable.
May I take Semaglutide injections?
Adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater may take Semaglutide. Additionally, adults with a BMI of 27 and a comorbidity (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and Type D diabetes) are also candidates.
What are the benefits of Semaglutide injections?
Semaglutide is the first weight loss medication that is highly effective and safe. Compared to other weight loss medications, Semaglutide has protective factors for your cardiovascular system, reduces inflammation, and has a low risk of hypoglycemia. Health care professionals are enthusiastic about the disease prevention associated with the 10-15% reduction in total body weight seen with Semaglutide.
What are the side effects of Semaglutide?
Gastrointestinal side effects are most common with Semaglutide, most often seen when increasing the dose. These include nausea, indigestion, constipation, and less commonly diarrhea, vomiting, headache, fatigue and dizziness. There are rare side effects of thyroid cancer and pancreatitis.

IV Nutrient Therapies
IV vitamin therapy delivers nutrients directly to the bloodstream and makes them instantly accessible by the body for use.
Intravenous therapy, or IV therapy, bypasses the digestive tract and transports hydration and nutrients directly to your bloodstream. A nutrients IV is a specific type of IV therapy that efficiently administers vitamins, minerals, hydration, and medications to the body through an IV drip.

Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth (SIBO) Testing
What is SIBO?
SIBO is when the bacteria that live in your small intestine are overgrown and the things that normally maintain balance among your gut flora aren’t working. It’s normal and healthy to have bacteria living in your small intestine, but too many can cause problems with your digestion — especially if they’re the wrong kind. The wrong bacteria can overwhelm the beneficial bacteria that you need to be there, and they can upset your digestive system by feeding on products that aren’t meant for them.
How is testing done and what does this test for?
SIBO testing is done at home collecting multiple “breath” samples throughout a 3 hour period. You will first drink a liquid, which the overgrown bacteria will use to produce hydrogen and methane, which will then be elevated in your breath. Elevated levels of these two gases rising a falling within that 3 hours indicates you have SIBO.
Food Inflammatory Testing (FIT)
What does this test for?
This test tests your blood for “long term” antibodies to 176 different foods. It also tests for something called Zonulin, which can indicate leaky gut.
When small particles of food are able to cross into your intestinal membrane, these small particles sometimes cause the intestines to respond with inflammation within the GI tract, which can cause troublesome symptoms, such as bloating, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, acid reflux, and/or excess flatulence.
What is the difference between a food sensitivity and food allergy?
The difference between a food allergy and sensitivity is the body’s response. When you have a food allergy, your immune system causes the reaction. If you have a food sensitivity or intolerance, the reaction is triggered by the digestive system.
- Symptoms of food intolerance include gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, cramping, and nausea.
- Symptoms of food allergy include hives, swelling, itching, anaphylaxis, and dizziness.
How is testing done and what does this test for?
This test is completed with a quick blood sample. The blood is tested for IgG and immune complexes to 176 different foods.
Adrenal Stress Testing (Cortisol)
What is Adrenal Fatigue?
Adrenal fatigue is thought to occur when the adrenals have been overworked to a degree that they can no longer secrete levels of cortisol that are adequate for optimal function.
How is testing done and what does this test for?
This test is collected using Saliva samples. You will collect your saliva and different periods throughout the day, including upon waking up for the morning and then several more time in a 24 hour period. The sample is then analyzed for Cortisol levels, which low levels during certain parts of the day indicating adrenal fatigue.
Leaky Gut Testing
What is Leaky Gut?
Tight openings in the intestinal walls allow water and nutrients to pass through into the bloodstream while keeping harmful substances inside. In Leaky Gut Syndrome, these openings become wider, allowing food particles, bacteria, and toxins to enter directly into the bloodstream.
Leaky gut may cause or contribute to the following symptoms: chronic diarrhea, constipation, or bloating, nutritional deficiencies, fatigue, headaches, confusion, difficulty concentrating, skin problems, such as acne, rashes, or eczema, and/or joint pains.
How is testing done and what does this test for?
Lactulose and mannitol are ingested for this test. You will then collect urine which will test for the presence of these two markers. Lactulose and mannitol are substances that should not be able to pass through the intestinal wall into the blood stream. If they do, they are excreted in urine. High levels in urine after drinking the lactulose/mannitol beverage indicates leaky gut syndrome.
